Our JEDI Team suggests two ways to help support those impacted by the recent earthquakes in Turkey:
Make a Financial Donation to the Canadian Red Cross to help earthquake victims in Syria & Turkey. Or you can donate to the International Rescue Committee, but note that they are a US organization so donations to them are not tax deductible in Canada.
Bring donations of new or almost new clean blankets, sleeping bags, tents and other camping gear. (Clothing is no longer being accepted). Leave them in the bins provided in the foyer. Over the next few weeks, the JEDI Team will deliver them to the warehouse in Burnaby where these donations are being collected by the Turkish Canadian Society and UBC Turkish Student Association for transport to Turkey.
