Art Shows in Our Sanctuary
Each month, our Artarian team arranges for one or more local artists to display their works in our Sanctuary. See the Artarians Biography Manual in the stairway for bios and more info about all of our featured artists.
February’s art show features Andrea Argyros, a contemporary South African artist whose painting career extends over 50 years. His paintings are found in private collections in South Africa, Great Britain, Australia, Luxembourg, Greece, Cyprus, Canada and the USA. Andrea’s mission as an artist is “to expand the vision of his viewers beyond what can be perceived by the naked eye, and to open up to the unseen mysteries that lie beneath their surfaces”. His custom portraits capture not just the physical beauty of his subject, but also offers a window into the subject’s soul.
In March, our art show will feature photos from about ten members of the West Vancouver Seniors’ Photography Club. The club’s members all love photography, with skill levels ranging from novice to very serious birders. The club meets every Thursday at the West Vancouver Seniors' Activity Centre from 1:00 to 3:30. We have speakers who make presentations on photography two to three times a month and have two to three field trips each year. We hope you enjoy a sampling of some of the images produced by members of the club.
April’s art show will feature a watercolour retrospective by NSUC church member, Inge Bachrich.
